Empty Hands

I had a dream. A man approached before the judgment seat of God and said, “You see, Lord, I have kept your law: I have done nothing unjust, evil or criminal in my life. Lord my hands are clean.”

The Lord answered, “They surely are; but they are empty.”
– Raul Follerau

People who would not take any initiative, the good-for-nothing, who would do anything, can never commit a mistake. The servant who received one talent in the “parable of the talents” is punished not for loosing the talent, but for not putting into use the one talent he had received; thus too the man with the empty hands.

“A person who never made a mistake, never tried any thing.” Albert Einstein
