Our beloved Founder, Late Rev. Fr Jose Kaimlett, known for his extraordinary missionary zeal, particularly for his tireless efforts to uplift the less fortunate, always believed in ‘doing what appears to be impossible.’ What St Andrew’s Schools are today is the result of such a vision followed by action coupled with Fr Jose’s firm trust in the Providence of God. As a first step, in 1996 Fr Jose bought fifteen acres of land here at Thirumanthurai and set it aside for a school. The school pays its humble tribute to him.
Thirumanthurai was a backward and underdeveloped rural area in Perambalur District. The challenging task of building and establishing a school was taken up enthusiastically by Rev. Fr Joy Oravanamthadathil, then Provincial Superior of Heralds of Good News. Following the footsteps of his role-model Fr Jose Kaimlett, he embraced it as a God-given opportunity to provide value based quality education to the promising generations of the area and to give them better opportunities in today’s competitive world. The School is immensely indebted to him as well as to his friends and well-wishers from Germany.

Over the years, St. Andrew’s school has witnessed remarkable achievements. Every year the result of 10th and 12th public examinations has been a 100% pass with the toppers attaining 1st or 2nd rank several times at State/District levels. It continues to be a well sought after school in the area both in terms schooling as well as for employment.
Following the instruction of the State Education Office the school is now divided into two: St. Andrew’s Matriculation Higher Secondary School & St. Andrew’s Brilliance High School.
