Giving In

An upholstered easychair and an ordinary straight-backed kitchen chair had stood alongside one another for some years.  Whenever people walked into the waiting room, they automatically chose to sit in theeasychair. This annoyed the kitchen chair, which felt so sturdy and solid, and keen to be used. Then one day he asked the easychair, “Tell me: why is it that people usually choose you instead of me?” “Because I give in,” obligingly answered the easychair with a smile.

Like the easychair, if we have an accommodating nature, people would seek out our company, and enjoy it. Whereas, if we are too stiff and unaccommodating, everyone would try to avoid us. Be pleasant and appear pleasant.
